Vegetables
Radish 2 weeks after sowing, had to move them to a bigger pot as the roots were showing at the bottom of the smaller one, looking forward to eating these soon :P
The larger of my broadbeans after 2 weeks, pretty impressed this has come on as it has, there has been very little sun lately here in North Wales, yet 2 of the 3 I planted come up well, unsure where I will put these if they get much bigger before I can plant them outside :S
Planted some peas today for overwintering, hopefully will manage to get pics up when the germinate :)

Runner Beans - Seed Saving
Earlier this year I planted a handful of runner bean seeds in the fixed raised bed. Unfortunately I did not tend to these at all, in fact they were left untouched until they had gone to seed early october.
I simply removed the seeds from the pods, sorted the mouldy ones from the good ones and left them on my kitchen worktop, after about a week they had dried out so the shells would more likely crack under pressure than squash in.
I have now placed these seeds in an envelope in a cupboard ready to plant next time.

Seed Saving
Seed saving is something I see just as important as planting the seeds themselves. One of the reasons I decided to grow vegetables was the cost saving and to buy seeds each year when they could be saved is taking away from the overall cost saving, as I progress with saving seeds I will be posting the method I use and the success I have with it.
Vegetables
Planted some Radish on my window sill on the 25th and they are just started to show coming through after 5 days, looking on the packet they should be sowed from march to september, but I am guessing they will grow all year round on the window sill, will keep a log of what I am planting with lengths of time to come through, replant etc and maybe post it when it is in good progress :)
